We're developing a modern digital platform for Norway's National Weapons Registry, focusing on civilian firearms registration and management. This critical system will serve as the backbone for weapons administration nationwide.
Position Overview: Backend/Frontend Developer
Project: National Weapons Registry for Police
Project Purpose:

Development of a new, modern functionality for the Norwegian National Weapons Registry

Creating digital solutions for civilian firearms registration, weapon owners, and weapon-owner relationships
-
Note: Police and military weapons are not included in this registry
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design and development of digital weapons management solutions within the product team
-
Collaboration with Police IT Services for system integrations
-
Working with the Police Directorate on requirements and solutions
Technical Requirements:
-
Minimum 3 years of IT education
-
Experience with Java/Kotlin and/or Javascript/Typescript
-
Expertise in:

System design and architecture
-
Microservices
-
Test-driven development
-
Cloud platform development (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)

Event-driven architecture and Spring Boot framework
-
Database management (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kafka)

Full-time position (100% engagement)

Start date: Between March 1-15, 2025

Initial 9-month contract with possibility of 6-month extension
